Not the usual 'breakpoint will not be hit' solution

I know the woes of  the 'The breakpoint will not be hit' problem as I've struggled with it personally for years.  After days of searching through the usual answers of check/delete your .pdb files I've found that it's often much simpler than that:

If you've got more than one instance of Internet Explorer running when trying to debug close them all and try to debug again.

The amount of times Visual Studio has attached itself to the wrong instance is both amazing and inconsistent.  This simple trick has saved hours of both mine, and colleagues time.
